To start of the week, the team and I had a meeting to discuss some information regarding my shoot preparation of the previous week and some upcoming events. These events included a short visit to the accommodation to allow Jess and Javier time to prepare cinematographically. As well as this, I had organised a meeting with myself, Javier, and a new potential actress. After a successful viewing of the accommodation, Javier and I headed to join our not-so-long-awaited call. The potential actress performed a scene from the film to perfection, confirmed that, despite being so soon, she was free for these dates and accepted our offer to take the role of Elizabeth! That means that our final cast consists of: Andre van Rooyen as James Miller Jamie Wigley as Elizabeth Miller Paloma Lopez as Madeleine Beaumont Jasmin Mitchell as Linda West Victor Koundourakis as Detective Foster Having sent the actors, now including Jamie, the information pack, I also made sure to ask a few questions for Emma and I. These included details such as dietary requirements, possession of shoes which could be used as part of their costume, and whether they would be happy to be added into a WhatsApp chat. With quick responses from each actor, a WhatsApp group chat was made. This made it easy for the cast and crew to begin bonding during the week, as well as giving the rest of the crew easy communication in order to complete their own roles. Alongside this, I was able to communicate with the actors in order to get their train tickets booked and refunded efficiently. Since we are starting our shoot this Saturday, the second half of this week has been full of pre-shoot jitters. Within these nerves, I spent a lot of time double checking information, signing forms for the council for use of Fitties Beach, last minute changes and picking up equipment! Picking up equipment went very smoothly, despite one issue which meant that we were unable to take out the RGB Neewer LED which we were intending to use. I am planning to contact the group which did not return the light to organise a collection which will allow us to use it this weekend. Next week’s blog will consist of this Saturday and Sunday to keep all shoot updates together.
