Week 8 -Post-Production

The second week after easter was slightly more upbeat than the previous. At the beginning of the week, I booked out some equipment, including the gimbal, to film an interview with myself and Julia, as well as the street shoot required for the film’s introduction. Julia came up with a few questions which could be asked to each team member which could be included alongside the behind-the-scenes footage and photography in order to give the viewer an enhanced view of the shooting week. Later that evening, Julia, Jess, and I met up once more to film shots of Lincoln streets at the top of steep hill. However, a shoot that was planned to start at 8pm did not start until 10pm. At 8 O’clock, I met up with Jess to set up the gimbal, however, despite managing to get the camera balanced on the gimbal, it was still not correct and needed rebalancing. Once we finally corrected this, Julia collected us, and we attempted to begin the shoot. The gimbal was now once again, not on our side. We spent a further hour outside trying to rebalance the gimbal. After finally admitting defeat, Christofer Cano Gahona came and resolved the issue within 5 minutes. The shoot went rather quickly after this, and although it was stressful attempting to balance the gimbal, it was a joyful shoot. This week I got to check in with Danay and the edit for the first time. He had mentioned that he had been having issues with some of the audio. I was able to help him make a start on trying to fix this. Although he couldn’t fix the breach on the audio of Paloma singing, he managed to fix the sound for when Linda finds the gun. The audio with Paloma wasn’t a large issue since due to copyright, we would not be allowed to use this anyway. I also gave him a few notes of where some clips needed to be altered and added.
