Week 2 of Pre-Production - Murder at Curtain Call

It's been a long week with a lot of work. Last Monday the team had a meeting to establish the goals of the next few weeks. We settled on top choices for actors and started ensuring their schedules. We also did a continuity round up and pointed out some minor flaws in the script, which I then ironed out.

We discussed locations and potential set choices, and settled on building two sets: one for the interrogation scene and one for the Dressing Room (where the Murder happens). After the meeting I suggested we go take a look at the Studio Space in the University to see if we could use that as a space for shooting, and we're in talks to secure that. I also had discussions with Jessica on Cinematography to ensure that we were on the same page, and then she got to work on Shot lists. I conducted another breakdown of the script to ensure I had a proper understanding of all the characters, as well as set-ups and pay-offs.

I wrote several lists of film recommendations for different members of the team, such as a Cinematography one for Jess, and two for our editor Danay, one for Pacing and one for Colour-grading.

On Friday, we settled on the fact that one of our locations was ridiculously over-budget, so we settled on a secondary one, and will be taking a look at it this week. Needless to say, Production is running smoothly.
