Production Week - Editor

Pre/Production Week 1- 21st- 26th March 2022

This week we did some test shoots with Emma and Julia being the main subjects. It went well, Jess made some changes to the shot list to shots that she didn’t think worked.

Saturday 26th March 2022 – We shot all of the bathroom scene which involved Elizabeth (Jamie) and James (Andre). I was having some technical issues with sound whilst filming and because the bathroom was so small, but we made it work, I soon realised that the wiring was a bit faulty, but I fixed it with tape, and we carried on filming. Overall filming went well, and the actors were amazing.

Sunday 27th March 2022 - On Sunday we had a busy shoot ahead of us. We were shooting every scene that we needed from the house. We first shot a scene involving Elizabeth and Linda, I had major sound issues with Linda’s screaming, the mic went bust, whenever I’d put the levels down it would still have that issue, but we carried out shooting and after the shoot tried to sound correct it. We don’t know what has happened.

Production Week 2 - 28th March – 3rd April 2022

This week we shot all the scenes of our film.

28th March 2022 – This day we were filming reshoots. My team and I realised that we filmed on the wrong codec, instead of filming on the Blackmagic we filmed on the camera which we weren’t meant to do and due to that we reshot all of the bathroom scenes we filmed on Saturday 26th.

29th March 2022 - The crew were filming in Cleethorpes beach and due to their not being any space in the car for all of the actors and crew to be in it, Millie my producer took on my role as sound recordist.

30th March 2022 – In the morning, we shot in the carousel bar on this day. We spent a short time in their getting shots of the actress Jasmine who plays in the bar. We also shot went up the hill of West Parade so shoot the close ups of victor who plays Detective Foster smoking a cigarette and saying his lines. It was very cold, but the crew had so much fun shooting it.

We came across a problem in terms of dates that day. When we entered Carousel the manager was very confused to why we were here, then Millie realised she got the dates mixed up. Luckily the manager at carousel allowed us the film there and the people at the blue room said it was fine and that we could come by tomorrow.

31st March 2022 – We shot in the Blue Room this day. We filmed Paloma singing a song called “Never Die”, which is our introduction to the film, Paloma has an amazing voice, very strong. We came across some technical issues in regard to sound. I was having the same problem that I had during the first week of shooting, whenever Palomas voice would go very loud, or she was hitting a high note the microphone would just bust. I’d put the levels of the mic down to see If that would work but it didn’t so I agreed that when we shot the murder scene the next day, I’d swap the equipment out at media loans and inform them that this mic is very faulty.

1st April 2022 – We shot the murder scene with a set the group and I made. It was the most exciting shoot we’ve had. There were no troubles with the sound this time after I swapped mics at Media Loans, everyone really was on their A game in terms of productivity and how efficient the shoot was. Overall amazing shoot.

2nd April 2022- This was our last day of shooting for the film before going home for Easter break. We filmed all the interrogation scenes in the radio rooms in the ATB. Again, no technical faults in this shoot, we were on a really tight schedule, so it was really important that we didn’t mess about a finish the shoot. The sound boards in the radio room really helped with the sound in the film, the interrogation scene was one of the most exciting ones for me because I’ve researched a lot on interrogation scenes and for it to come together like that is amazing.
