27th April 2022 - Day 2

Day 2 started out rocky. Our cinematographer called me and said that she is really ill. So filming was delayed by an hour, which meant that we would be behind schedule again. However, this gave Emma more time to prep the bedroom scene and the living room scene. We had to move the sofa and tables to create a 40s noir feel. So when Jessica came everything was ready and would just needed to set up the camera. In fact, we were now ahead of schedule! Again, due to the small space, I was unable to be up in the bedroom when they were filming. Instead Amelia the other producer was up there as I made lunch for everyone.

The living room scene took longer to set up than planned so we were now back on schedule. However, this scene was filmed very efficiently and Jessica did an amazing job alongside Theodora Clayton who helped with the focus pull. After filming I cooked a Vegan Green Thai curry for everyone which was a great hit.

There were also a few issues with the crew where people would not express their thoughts and feelings. So after the shoot I organised a meeting with everyone. Some people had to go home so this was done over teams. I did not want this meeting to be in front of actors so that’s why we did it in the evening. After this meeting we are all happy and would make sure to improve our communication. From this moment onwards we worked really effectively!
