31st of March 2022 - Day 6

Updated: May 20, 2022

This was the first day of 3 long days ahead. I woke up at 9am and get ready to head to the cottage to prepare them for the filming. I knew from making he schedule that we will have to be really strict with timings and that was my main focus for today. Actually getting everything filmed. It was a challenge but we managed really well.

When we got to the Blue Room we apologised to the manager for the date mix-up and that we are so grateful understanding and making sure we could film on this day. Apart from the mix-up we ran into a few technical and set-up issues. So our prep time took longer than what we had planed for as the curtains did not shut properly, and there was a fire exit sign that needed covering up. With the use of tape we were able shut the blinds a bit more than originally and we used posters that Emma our production designer had made to over up the fire exit signs.

Then we when we turned on the camera, the image on the monitor was extremely blurry event after we had wiped and cleaned the lenses. It turn out, due to the extremely cold weather outside and then walking into a warm room made the lenses fog on the inside. So we had to wait….

Due to the size of the theatre hall and the old floorboards, there was echos and creaking when we moved. But in the end we managed and the sound came out really well.

Despite the challenges that we faced, we were able to finish on time and pack up.

Later that day, Emma our production designer and a few of the team members headed down to set up for the next day shoot at the TV studio. We all helped build the red dressing room. Put down a floor and carry the bigger props into the space. This meant that we had more time to film the next day as we were on such a strict time frame.
